Emergence Astrology Year One

Most people come to astrology with an ache. You may not even know how to articulate what it is. There’s just something guiding you to it. It’s unlanguageable and mysterious.

For astrology to be spoken in the way you’ve been longing for, you need to feel yourself inside of astrology, and you need to feel astrology inside of you. And for this to unfold, you have to surrender any hope that astrology is an outside authority with answers or predictions. Answers are within you. The planets want to guide you in how to find them.

Introducing Emergence Astrology Year One. A 9-month hermitage to receive the language as it wants to move uniquely through you. Followed by a 3-month period of integration in small learning cohorts.

Emergence Astrology Year One is the first in a 3-year series of experiential journeys I’m growing from scratch. It’s been almost two years since I’ve opened the doors to an astrology learning space. My guidance has wanted me to wait. To write my book. To steward other offerings. To grow in my channeling practice. To listen.

Year One is for anyone with a longing and an ache to learn astrology with their whole self. An astrology that is meant to be received, and felt, and lived. Not memorized.

All are welcome, from professional astrologers craving a more secure relationship with the planets, to beginners who are familiar with my voice enough to take this leap.

This is not Astrology 101.

Year One is a highly mystical initiation of self-discovery and self-knowing, in collaboration with mystery. The primary thing you will be learning is how to open to receive the cosmos through the many ways of knowing, including – but not centering – the mental and intellectual. You will learn how to navigate all experience with a more wise and open heart.

You will complete the year rooted in self-trust that you have the capacity to receive and validate your own gnosis. There’s an unfuckwithabilty that comes as a consequence of such expansive and deep self-knowing. Your connection will only grow more fortified with time.

Course Structure

Year One is inspired by my younger self. I learned astrology in the quiet of my own hermitage. I didn’t bring in a live teacher or classmates until I had already cultivated a funky, hyper-mystical, somewhat heretical approach from tinkering around with my own ritual-based listening practices.

I want you to have the space to be in deep listening, without concern for external validation or “getting it right.” I trust that what comes through for you will be extra magical because it’ll come from direct contact with mystery.

Every other time I have taught a year-long astrology course, I have vacillated between wanting to bring something through my authentic voice, and respectfully honoring the template of what people expect in a 101 experience.

Year One is me going full rogue. In future promos, I will be able to tell you more precisely what you will be receiving. Everyone who joins me this round is saying Yes because you trust me and where my guidance has taken me thus far.

Part 1: The 9-Month Hermitage

We begin at the summer solstice. The first 9 months of Year One there are NO LIVE MEETUPS. No check-ins. No Q & As. This set up is on purpose.

These 9 months are a time of rebirth. Of being held inside a cosmic egg of remembering, visioning, journeying, and knowing.

The 9 monthly modules with teaching transmissions, ritual suggestions, meditations, self-inquiry exercises, and resources will be provided in the online classroom space and delivered at the beginning of each sign season. Expect to engage with the classroom materials about a minimum of 4-6 super-potent hours a month and then give at least 15 minutes a day to the daily practices you devote to.

You will be self-leading at the pace that works for your body, your life, and your learning style. The only expectation is that you are complete by the spring equinox.

Over the course of 9 months, you will be invited to become deeply intimate with both the particular – your sweet human self – and the infinite – the divine body of the cosmos.

You will be introduced to a spirit guide who is very excited to become connected with you and support you in your experience of cosmos consciousness and human reprogramming. (You do not have to abandon any part of you that is skeptical about this process. We’re playing! We’re experimenting!)

You will learn how to open to receive and to listen to direct planetary and spirit guidance, and then validate what you receive and keep all data in your journal.

The hermitage will sometimes be uncomfortable because it will force you to confront distortions about yourself, your family, and your world. You will be invited to love yourself more fully in all of your paradox and multiplicity. You will be surrendering to the unshaming processes required to be more receptive to the wisdom of this art form.

The mystic’s journey is one of disillusion and dissolution that ultimately bring you to ecstatic surrender and catharsis.

Some skills you will be learning: a profound noticing practice for calling in more aliveness; deepening awareness of self and world; heightened sensitivity to inner and outer experience; expansion of consciousness; dissolving boundaries between you and the unseen realms to hold you in mystery; practices for grounding and calling your energy back to you; tuning in to communication from each planet guide; ritual creation and facilitation; and much more.

By the end of the 9 months, you will have a personal relationship with each of the 7 traditional planets. They will move with you for the rest of your life.

Part 2: The 3-Month Salon

The last three months of Year One you will spend in small group learning cohorts with up to 12 peers. These will be facilitated weekly by a teaching assistant who I trust and revere. Placements will be determined in the fall based on personal timing preferences.

Now it’s time to bring in charts. We begin with the Ascendant because this is the most sensitive degree of your chart and you have just completed the 9 months of deep wombic gestation.

Throughout the 3 months, you will learn how to bring Earth into the chart via the language of the house system. This will not be the confusing experience it can often be when the relationships with the planets are not solidified in advance. You will be learning from your channel space as well as from dialogue with your peers.

In addition, the spring salon will be support you in processing your 9-month hermitage. Personal storytelling will be a potent way to validate your experiences and fortify your knowing. You can count on trusting that the cohort placements will be guided by mystery, and you will be paired with many who will become cherished friends. Very few have such a unique experience!

Years Two & Three

For everyone who wants to continue, Year Two will provide a deeper understanding of astrology and how it can support you in your human life, whether you want to read charts or not. And Year Three will be focused on mentorship to support those who want to bring their relationship with astrology into thought leadership, a one-on-one practice, teaching spaces, and/or creating from your channel. At the end of Year Three, you can be “certified” as an Emergence Astrology Practitioner.

You may wonder how Emergence Astrology relates to and differs from other approaches to astrology. To learn more about Emergence Astrology, tune in here.

Notice that I didn’t include information there about how much astrological learning to have or not have before entering. That’s because all levels are invited and it’s not that kind of space. There’s no way to be “too advanced” for this. Year One is about giving yourself an experience.

The dates for Year One are from summer solstice 2024 to summer solstice 2025. Please be prepared to commit to weekly 60-90 minute meetups in the spring 2025. The dates and times for the meetups will be figured out in the fall based on personal preference.

Please note that all students will be asked to have a journal and cultivate a daily practice with the tarot. If you’ve never engaged with the tarot, this is not a problem. A slow, steady, imperfect practice is all I’m asking you to try. Support will be provided.

on the mysticism we’re doing here

There’s this picture that I think we have that mysticism is all light and sound frequency. That it’s not corporeal. That it’s not made of the body stuff. The thing is: 

I didn’t know that I had chicken feet until my mystical life initiated in my hermitage.

I didn’t know about my fur. I didn’t know about these fucking fangs. I didn’t know I could lay eggs, tear flesh. I didn’t know about these wings I’ve got until my hermitage when I found my mystical life.

Underneath my mystic’s robe is a big dick. What I mean by that is my unshamed throb. My mysticism connects me to the throb of life. And removes confusion about limitations. We are multi-hybrid creatures, we mystics.

I’m not talking about social identities as much as expansive being-ness. I am a woman and I love, love, love, love that I’ve got this big cave inside of me. And I also have a big dick. And I also have talons. I have night vision. I have scales. I’ve got horns growing out of my head.

This I’ve learned through my mysticism. I learned it in my hermitage. It was an initiation.

There’s a lot that’s transcendent about mysticism. There’s a lot that’s connected to light and sound frequencies. There’s a lot of dissolving boundaries into love and connecting with unseen realms. But the process is not separate from also coming into profound connection to matter. To the planet.

The dissolution of the boundaries between us and everything else changes us at cellular levels. To the bone. The most infinite, cosmic extensions of consciousness shift us so specifically, finitely, uniquely.

This is the paradox: that you are the cosmos. The cosmos is you. 

The speech of bees. The speech of lions. The speech of extinct sea creatures. They all start to come through the openings in your channel when you submit to the rebirthing process of the hermit. 

Astrology to me is a current that opens these channels up. Through the signs especially, as ways of being that have been gifted to us by the zodiac. Zodiac means circle of animals. 

Astrology opens you up to receive more. More gnosis. More truth. More laughter, more power, more desire, more grief, more anger, all the things.

This hybridity is how you begin to even fathom how more you are. 

In the dark of my own hermitage, I listened. I let things fade off. The old identities. The expectations. The illusions. Falling away. Dissolution taking over. And that’s when astrology started talking to me.

I want to teach astrology this way. Where from the dark of your own cave space, astrology can begin to talk to your multitudes. My role is to set the space for you to trust your voice and follow it. Not to give the answers.   

QUESTIONS REGARDING COURSE STRUCTURE & PEDAGOGY

Q: Will you eventually offer more advanced astrology classes, too? 

A: Year One is part of a larger series I am building out. Enrolling in Year One does not obligate you to enroll in anything else, but you will be required to have completed Year One in order to go on to Year Two, which will be focused on living, thinking, speaking, serving, and loving expansively and emergently, while continuing to learn the speech, techniques, and art of astrology. Community is a massive part of Year Two.

Year Three will focus on thought leadership, guideship, and art-making in the world. You will be doing 1-on-1 mentorship with me and in small-group councils with your peers. Year Three colleagues will have the opportunity to be the TAs for Year One, and develop workshops and offerings for my school. Beyond Year Three, you will be able to call yourself “certified” and mentored by me, and may be invited to participate in bigger ways in my community.

Another way to answer this question is to name that “beginner” and “advanced” just aren’t terms that have relevance in this kind of space. I don’t care what level of astrological knowledge or practice you have. Year One is not a step that can be skipped as there are bigger things going on beyond “knowledge.” You will know if this is for you based on how your body responds to that. 

Q: So what will we actually be doing in Year One? 

A: The first 9 months of Year One you will be in a “hermitage,” which is an invitation to be with yourself and your voracious devotion to learning, gnosis, and awakening with mystery. There will be no live meetups or Q&As. You will be self-leading and self-guiding through the material I offer you. Then the last 3 months you will gather into small groups for required weekly meetups for mutual witnessing, celebrating, naming, and vocalizing. There will also be bonus gatherings for bonding and for asking questions. 

All year long, the curriculum is led by our Time Teachers: the 7 traditional planets and the signs they rule. 

• You will have daily devotional practices – at least 15 minutes of your attention daily 
• Then there will be a weekly “Two-Eye” practice where you hold the Sun and Moon in each eye, cultivating many eyes to be a person of expansive seeing. (More on this inside the container!) – at least 30 minutes weekly 
• Then each month – sign by sign – you will receive astrological transmissions, rituals, and practices / tools of the psychic-mystic to cultivate skill in seership – at least 4 hours a month 
• Beyond this, we will also be connecting to the quarter / season as well as the yearly cycle of the Sun 

Q: So what skills are we learning? What tools and abilities am I walking away with? 

A: The primary thing you are learning is unshakable, unflappable trust: in yourself and in the Cosmos. This trust will change how you make choices, how you act in the world, how you relate to other humans, how you sleep at night, how you feel about yourself and your reality… Trust reweaves everything. 

I am braiding together 3 strands here: self-trust as a feeler-speaker-listener-child of astrology, self-trust as a human being who turns fully toward their life and path, and self-trust as an intuitive, psychic, and mystic in an unapologetically loving relationship to your guides from the other side of the visible.  

As an astrologer, by the end of Year One you will have:

• the foundational sense of being a wise speech-artist and speech-healer of astrology
• a home in yourself for each sign as well as a felt sense for the squares and oppositions of all signs in the zodiac 
• a subjective, very intimate relationship with each of the 7 planets 
• a subjective, playful and meaningful relationship to the tarot 
• a deep understanding of your Ascendant and how to let that guide your life in collaboration with your heart 
• a full-body understanding of your angles and a deep grasp for “angularity” as a frequency  

As a human being, by the end of Year One, you will have:

• moved through tons of unshaming, which is the most powerful pathway to self-trust, and know how to weave unshaming into the micro-moments of your life on your own
• a relationship to de-should-ing your life 
• practice with shedding, molting, surrendering, so that transformation feels like something you know how to move through, even when it’s uncomfortable   
• more pride in yourself and how you live 
• a sense of self as a devotional person who tends to what matters to you and acts from a place of fiercely loving boundaries
• higher priorities around self-attunement and self-listening 
• a deeper skillset as a relational being with other humans that you’re in contract with
• a broader openness to laughter, to grief, to wonder, to love, and to your imaginative capacity to dream new pathways into being 
• a sense of a home base community here with lots of new friends to witness and support you along your becoming

As a mystic-seer-psychic-intuitive, by the end of Year One, you will have: 

• an easeful capacity for guiding yourself into trance states and connecting to the unseen realms, including communicating with guides and ancestors, visiting past lives, and projecting yourself onto the astral plane  
• facility with altar-building, ritual creation, and holding ceremony for self-journeying 
• your own chants and prayer pathways for moving in and out of the ritual space 
• the ability to be a ridiculously magical person without any object-tools necessary 
• an understanding for the distinctness of different deity frequencies and how engaging with deities can support you 
• self-trust as a person of gnosis (aka wisdom)
